Sylvia Mwangi, a Disaster Risk Financing Expert at Zep-Re (PTA Reinsurance Company), leads Component 1 of the $360.5M World Bank-funded DRIVE Project, empowering Horn of Africa pastoralists with financial services for drought risk mitigation and value chain inclusion. She brings extensive experience in scaling climate solutions, fostering public-private collaboration, and driving regional financial innovations.
Previously, Sylvia was a Partner at Dalberg Global Development Advisors and a Senior Manager at McKinsey & Company. She serves on the boards of EarthEnable and Generation Kenya and has earned the McKinsey Client Impact Award for her contributions. Sylvia is a graduate of Finance and Accounting from the University of Nairobi, complemented by executive training from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan School of Management).
